What is NIA?

NIA is a platform that connects ambitious high school and university students with small, reliable charitable organisations operating in developing countries.

The platform presents carefully selected relief and development projects in a clear and accessible format. Students can explore specific short-term and long-term initiatives for which partner organisations urgently require funding. They can then contribute by organising school fundraisers, making donations or collaborating with other students and institutions.

Projects vary considerably in scale. Some require relatively small contributions but address urgent needs, such as providing food supplies, menstrual products or essential educational materials to local schools. Others involve larger and longer-term commitments, including constructing schools, improving community infrastructure, providing vocational training and offering career guidance.

A Story Behind Every Project

NIA ensures that every project tells a clear and meaningful story.

Students can learn about the communities and villages receiving support, understand the challenges they face and see exactly what their contributions will fund. They will also receive detailed information about the assistance being provided and the expected impact of each project.

Before and during project implementation, students will have opportunities to communicate directly with NIA’s partner organisations, ask questions and receive regular updates about how the project is progressing.

Participating students, schools and institutions will also receive photographic and video evidence documenting the work being completed and showing how the funds are being used. This may include footage of the project’s different stages, the people and communities benefiting from it, the completed work and the official inauguration ceremony of each project.

This creates a transparent and educational form of charitable involvement, allowing students to witness the direct impact of their contributions rather than simply making a donation.
